THANK YOU TO MY SECRET PAL!!

Dear Secret Pal,

WOW! Your package was a TOTAL surprise!! I thought you covered April in last months HUGE box of goodies (Or is this for May? I'm loosing track of the months.. lol which is good with this long wait!!!) All I can say is THANK YOU!! What a GREAT surprise!

I LOVE the outfits!! They are adorable!! They will definitely come in handy for the NY winters!!

The Precious Moments "Hay Good Lookin'" figurine is so cute!! That was so thoughtful of you to go through all that to get this special and thoughtful gift! Gotta love Ebay!! And the ladybug makes it extra special!! It's perfect and is on a shelf above my desk where I can see it all the time (it's definitely not going in the closet!). I wish I could have gotten a clearer picture. It's so cute!

Jake is doing well and has been very playful now that he is feeling better. Here is a couple of pics of him bringing one of his foam balls to me to play. It's funny you mention the "spooning".. lol I don't really have too much choice in the matter!! He will come up on the bed and back up into my chest and plop himself against me. If I roll over, well, then he does the same thing on the other side. He's a big mush!!

My Mom is doing well, thank you for asking. She has been coming over on Wednesdays and staying till Saturday, then going back to her apartment for till Wednesday again. She was here today when your package came so it was great I got to open it with her (Hubby was at work.. I couldn't wait that long! lol)

I hope you have a great vacation!! Thank you so much for the gifts! You made my day!!!

Referrals, Shopping, Projects, Oh My!

I think that I get so bummed each month when CCAA only gets through a few LID days for referrals that I just need a few days to "move on". LOL This month, they only got to 3 days, January 10-12 2006. 3 DAYS! Alot of people seem to think things will pick up after the Olympics. I sure do hope so, because at this rate we are looking at 2012 and that is calculating with one week referred per month.

And that's where the retail therapy comes in! Hey, I have to have some vice to get through this loooong wait. Here are pics of the recent additions. First, I hit a Carter's gold mine in Costco the other day. Then I received my shipment I was waiting for of the incredible deals on Amazon.com of The Children's Place clearance items. I also had a Sears gift card I needed to "get rid of". So, I went a bit nuts.. maybe it's nesting? I need some excuse. I think I feel if I don't get these things now at these incredible prices, that by the time we get back from China we will not be able to afford anything! LOL

OK! Maybe I have a little problem! LOL But all these things only cost about $60 total! Come on, can't go wrong with that!

I really wish we could do a concurrent adoption, but even without the retail therapy, it's just financially not going to happen. We still need to come up with so much just to go to China as I think I mentioned in a previous post. We got the rest of the fees and most of the travel covered if we fly coach. UGH! I can't even think about that right now.

We were considering a concurrent adoption at one point (again) probably thru Ethiopia (since Vietnam is apparently closing..again), but I think for an infant you have to be younger than 41. Soooo that would be another rush to get in at the last minute since I'll be 41 next year. But again, no $$$. Or should I say, no $$,$$$? lol

Ok I'm done whining about that. Thanks for listening Blogger-world.

On a brighter note, I finished working on my closet!! WooooHoooo! I wasn't going to do the other side just yet, but Hubby said I could get the lumber to finish it as a Mother's Day present, so it's all done!! Some women like jewelry, some get flowers, I'm a happy camper with some lumber. I also put a little carpet down too. I feel so organized now.

Next project... well, there are so many, but I may get back into sewing on a regular basis. I always loved making kids clothes so maybe I can get back into that.. who knows, maybe sell a few things on ebay or through this blog. I used to sell clothes I made about 20-23 years ago. I made several prom dresses back in high school, I used to make my own clothes, I made my wedding dress, I've made kids clothes in the past. I should get back into it. I almost went to college for design, but accounting sounded more "stable", which is odd because now I'm a computer tech. LOL But I've always enjoyed sewing and fabric and putting things together. So that might be what I'm up to next. Of course, I have a ton of projects to do out in the yard now that it's warm. Just gotta keep busy, busy, busy!!

3rd Wedding Anniversay

3 years ago today, Hubby and I got dressed in a hotel in Niagara Falls, Canada, drove across the border to Niagara Falls, NY and was married in front of the Falls. Then we drove back to Canada and put jeans on and went about the rest of our day sightseeing. lol Noone back home knew we were going to do this. We just came back with a wedding video and showed it to everyone! Talk about low-key!

Both of us almost didn't remember, but yesterday I knew it was Cinco de Mayo so that was a reminder.. we were ALMOST married on 05-05-05! But alas, we got married the next day instead. lol We are not doing anything to celebrate this year, maybe next year.
